Fall 2019 Fundraising Updates
Last year, our fearless founder embarked on a mission to support the local community youth programs by connecting them with Maryland athletics in an effort to both provide experiences for kids in the area, and to increase attendance and fandom for our hometown team. It took a lot of blind support from folks like you, but the results were tremendous. Old Line Club was able to raise enough money for 1,000 youth tickets, gain 20 new members and they sponsored a tailgate for each of the Maryland football games.
The goals grew exponentially for year two. New targets were set for 5,000 youth tickets and the organizing of an away trip to the Temple game. This was a dramatic increase in donations by those who support this mission. Let’s take a look at progress:
5,000 Tickets
This one didn’t stand a chance. You all crushed it. We were able to not only raise enough for 5,000 tickets to the Howard game, but when confronted with a request for an additional 1,000 tickets for the Syracuse game, you all stepped up again and in roughly two weeks donated over $10,000 towards the cause. We can not thank you enough for your generosity, and we know that all of the benefitting groups are incredibly thankful as well.
Away Trip to Temple
This target is well underway. We’ve got buses leaving from Frederick, College Park and White Marsh/Glen Burnie. We’ve purchased group tickets at the game and are sponsoring a large tailgate. And for Members – everything but the game ticket is free, while we have a paid option for non-members.
But hey – every non-profit should be about transparency – so here it goes. We haven’t seen the initial response we were hoping for and may have overextended ourselves a bit. Stuff like this happens with new organizations – but with two weeks left until the deadline, we have a lot of confidence that numbers will increase. Either way – we promise a fantastic trip and the Maryland football program will appreciate our presence.
Not Done Yet
We’ve got tailgates for every home football game the rest of 2019. We are sponsoring a tailgate for the Rutgers road game. And you can purchases passes here. And we want to get kids to a basketball game in December. More information on that coming soon!
We are also working hard on our marketing efforts. While the new website and Old Line tent are a fantastic start, we are working hard to connect with new local organizations, companies to further our mission.
